2. Distinction: Local Playback vs. Online Streaming Features

To provide full transparency, Piludi – Media Player operates across two distinct modes of functionality:

A. Local Media Playback (100% Offline & Private)

  • Local Storage Only: When you open and play video, audio, or subtitle files stored on your local hard drives, SSDs, or external USB drives, the application operates 100% locally and offline.
  • Zero Cloud Transfer: Local media files are never uploaded, analyzed, scanned, or transmitted over the internet.
  • No Playback History Tracking: The application does not collect, record, or transmit records of which movies, clips, or songs you watch or listen to.

B. Optional Online & Network Media Streaming Features

  • User-Initiated Streaming: The application provides optional features enabling you to stream media directly from custom network URLs (such as HTTP, HTTPS, FTP servers, local network shares, or online web video links including YouTube streams).
  • Direct Client-to-Host Connection: When you choose to stream an online URL, the application establishes a direct network connection between your personal computer and the third-party server hosting that media.
  • No Middleman or Proxy Servers: DesignoFly Studio does not route your stream through proprietary proxy servers, does not intercept or log the URLs you input, and does not track your viewing habits.
  • Third-Party Server Interaction: When connecting to a third-party streaming source (e.g., YouTube or an external HTTP server), that third party receives standard internet communication data (such as your IP address, user-agent, and requested media segment) subject directly to that third party’s own terms and privacy policy (e.g., Google Privacy Policy).

3. Information We Do NOT Collect

DesignoFly Studio maintains a strict zero-telemetry policy. We do not collect, store, or share:

  • Personal Identifiable Information (PII): We do not collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, physical locations, or payment details.
  • Viewing & Listening Habits: We do not track playback duration, favorite media, playback timestamps, or library contents.
  • Streamed URL Logs: We do not log, monitor, or store the web links, IP addresses, or streaming URLs you enter into the player.
  • Device Fingerprinting: We do not collect MAC addresses, hardware serials, or unique device fingerprints.
  • Third-Party Tracking SDKs: We do not incorporate commercial advertising trackers, user profiling SDKs, or third-party behavioral analytics.

4. How the Application Operates (System Permissions)

To provide media playback and streaming on Windows, Piludi – Media Player utilizes the following permissions:

1. Local File System Access: Used solely to read user-selected video, audio, and subtitle files from your local storage and display them on your screen.

2. Internet Access (internetClient capability): Required solely to execute user-requested online network streaming (HTTP, HTTPS, FTP, web streams) and to open support/help links in your default web browser when clicked. If you do not use online streaming features, the player can be used entirely disconnected from the internet.

3. Local Hardware Acceleration: The application interfaces directly with your local graphics card (DirectX 11, NVDEC, Intel QuickSync, AMD AMF) to decode video frames smoothly. No hardware diagnostics or telemetry are sent to external servers.

5. Third-Party Services & Store Distribution

  • Microsoft Store: When installed through the Microsoft Store, installation, packaging, and automatic updates are handled by Microsoft according to the Microsoft Privacy Statement. DesignoFly Studio does not receive or store your Microsoft account details or payment information.
  • External Web Links & Streaming Hosts: When streaming from external web platforms, your connection is established directly with that platform. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party websites or streaming hosts you access.

6. Data Security

Because Piludi – Media Player does not maintain cloud databases or remote user accounts, your media consumption is safeguarded from central server breaches and unauthorized cloud tracking. Your viewing privacy remains under your personal control.

7. Children’s Privacy

Piludi – Media Player does not collect personal information from any user, including children under the age of 13. When used for local playback, it is a clean, ad-free player suitable for all ages. When accessing third-party online streams, parental guidance is advised regarding the third-party content accessed.
